Hello, and welcome to my very first Pretty Little Blog! I can’t tell you how excited I am about the launch of my website.
Pretty Little Braids has become possible thanks to all my followers on social media. Without you, I would be sending my daughter off to school with stylish hair and then come home to clean house.
Your support has allowed me to indulge my passion. A passion I have had since I was a little girl.
The result is that I get to focus all my spare time now on nurturing my skills, growing my business and sharing my love of braiding with the world.
Since starting Pretty Little Braids back in 2014, I have posted almost 1,000 pictures of my six-year-old daughter Grace. Now she gets recognised everywhere we go. We never imagined it would be such a big hit and Grace loves the compliments she gets.
It’s special that Grace is a part of what I do. I’ve been styling her hair since as soon as her hair was long enough to clip back or put into elastic. And I would style Grace’s hair regardless because I love doing it.
My four-year-old son, George is never far from my side, while I braid, and occasionally, if I’m lucky, hubby will make me a coffee while I’m braiding. It’s a great bonding time for us as a family before the mad rush of the day.

My beautiful family.
Before having kids, I worked as a real estate agent, not a hairdresser. GASP!
Growing up I always loved braiding. I would take any chance I could get to braid. Back then; I only knew how to French, and Dutch Braid. I had no idea that so many other extensive braids existed.
After I had discovered that Mum’s like me were braiding their daughter’s hair and posting photo’s of their amazing intricate braids on social media, I decided to set up the Facebook, and Instagram accounts for Pretty Little Braids. Little did I know that it was the beginning of something that would change my life.
I now braid hair for clients who want their hair braided for a special occasion, run braiding workshops and work with charities.
I look forward to getting to know more about my followers and showing you more about me. I love a challenge, so I expect lots of questions and requests.
That’s it for now. Your support humbles me, and I look forward to what the future holds. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to make a career out of doing something that I love, creating Pretty Little Braids.
Shelley xx
